Eileen and Pat travelled home from the UK to celebrate their wedding day with family and friends.
Eileen, her mum and her eight bridesmaids (from the smallest to the tallest!) got ready together in the comfort of the hotel. The room was full of excitement and pre-wedding nerves when John and I arrived that morning. I always love working with John — he’s brilliant at getting everyone laughing and relaxed.
We travelled from the Ardilaun Hotel to Barna Church to meet Pat and his groomsmen. They were busy chatting and greeting guests who had travelled from far and near to celebrate with them.
Although the day was dry, it was very windy. After the ceremony and a short family photo session, we planned to head towards Furbo for some beach photos. The wind had other ideas, though, so we made a quick change of plan and popped into Pádraicíns instead. Warmth over cold any day! 🙂
The Wedding Reception
After a short stop, we headed back towards Maureen’s warm welcome, with a quick detour through Barna Woods. Thankfully, the trees sheltered us from the blustery coastal weather.
The hotel gardens have recently been redesigned and they looked stunning. The secluded space was perfect for couple, family and group photos. It gave us a chance to capture a few shots we had missed earlier in the day.
It was a wedding filled with laughter and great humour, and I’m sure the celebrations continued long into the night. You were fantastic craic, so easy-going, and it was a real pleasure to be part of your big day. Thank you, Eileen and Pat. ❤️
